About Me

I’m Sheila Barrett, a video producer, photographer, motion graphics artist, and graphic designer with a strong foundation in visual storytelling. Currently, I’m a Senior Video Producer/Editor at Boston University, and I’ve produced content for Biogen, Boston College, and a variety of clients through my freelance brand, Sheila’s Films.

I manage projects from start to finish—storyboarding, filming, lighting, directing, editing, and color grading. I create short-form content for platforms like TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram, as well as long-form web content built around thoughtful, narrative-driven storytelling. I’m experienced in capturing content both in studio settings and on the go, adapting to the needs of each production. I also incorporate drone videography to enhance projects with dynamic aerial visuals.

I have a strong background in photography, capturing portraits, live events, editorial, and promotional imagery. My photography is shaped by a keen sense of composition, lighting, and story—whether it’s part of a larger video production or a stand-alone project.

In addition to video and photography, I bring experience in graphic design—creating everything from social media graphics and branded content to internal communications and event materials. I’m comfortable designing within existing brand guidelines or building visuals from the ground up, with a focus on clarity, consistency, and visual impact across digital and print formats.

I also develop 2D/3D motion graphics to elevate video and campaign content. From animated text to explainer visuals, I aim to create clean, clear, and engaging elements that support the message and draw viewers in.

Whether working independently or as part of a team, I bring creative direction, technical skill, and attention to detail to every project.
